The event is one of hundreds taking place across the region as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (16-22 November) a worldwide entrepreneurial movement that aims to encourage people to unleash their enterprising talents and turn their ideas into reality.

Alongside more than 80 countries, events and activities across the UK will encourage enterprise in local areas and inspire individuals to make their ideas happen. Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009 puts a forceful case for supporting entrepreneurial people in helping drive economic recovery in communities, towns and regions nationwide. The week is a platform to encourage aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to think big and go global. Another key focus is using enterprising ideas to tackle society’s biggest challenges such as low carbon solutions to climate change.

Kathryn joins hundreds of entrepreneurs who support the Week across the UK, sharing their inspiring enterprise story and bringing entrepreneurship to life.

Kathryn said: this is a great event to be involved in as the students will be presenting some great ideas. And it is always really interesting to see how the next wave of entrepreneurs think about what new products should be in the market.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is co-ordinated by Enterprise UK, the national campaign to increase entrepreneurial behavior in the UK. Â

Scott Cain, Deputy Chief Executive of Enterprise UK, said: “Events such as the Heath Park Dragons Den Challenge will help inspire people to take control through being entrepreneurial and collectively will have a long term positive impact on people in Wolverhampton. It’s our enterprising people that will help drive economic recovery. Through Global Entrepreneurship Week and the thousands of activities across the UK we aim to connect these fresh-thinkers to like-minded people both at home and abroad.”
